Review of Star Wars Rogue Leader
December 26, 2003
I feel slightly embarrassed to propose you this review today. Not because it's now an old game, but because I gave it a very bad score and the review might seem very harsh. But I shouldn't feel ashamed, I wrote what I sincerely think of Rogue Leader, why I disliked it so much and why I think it's a very bad game. I guess not very many persons share my opinion. Never mind, I didn't write this review to give the same views as everyone, neither did I write it to stand out, I just wanted to speak frankly about this game, without compromise. That's also what Samurai Nintendo is about, we judge games the way we feel, without any consideration for what the common thinking about them is.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords +
December 25, 2003
The GameCube version of this Game Boy Advance classic is now dubbed Four Swords Plus and a release date has been set on February 19 in Japan. Many of you will probably be delighted to hear this as we were: the Game Boy Advance connection is not necessary anymore to play this game ! It seems Nintendo listened to player's complaint, and for once, it was a good thing to do. The game will now feature at least three modes: Hyrule's Adventure (the classic Four Swords adventure), Shadow Battle (a sort of fighting mode on one screen) and Navi Trackers (shown before in the E3 as a separate game called Tetra's Trackers). Some very good news indeed and consequently, our interest for this game has risen from level 3 to level 8 ! Check our impatience level and more in our preview:

NCL updates its planning on Christmas and we're here to deliver you the info. 1080 Avalanche has been renamed 1080 Silverstorm in Japan. The name of Zelda Four Swords has been slightly changed too and a date has been fixed for its release, check our next news for more details.

Japanese Ranking Updated
December 25, 2003
There's been a surge in the sales of a few GameCube titles in Japan. Check which ones are concerned in Japan Weekly.

Merry Christmas !
December 25, 2003
Samurai Nintendo wishes a Merry Christmas to all its (few) readers ! Yep, today is Christmas but we're still working on a few interesting updates, that'll be our present for you.

Preview of Naruto 2
December 21, 2003
I must say this game had me totally unmotivated, it was a pain just to gather screenshots for the preview. Not that I would mind playing it, but I didn't feel like doing this now. But I had to, because I know some people are pretty excited about Naruto 2 even though it's unlikely to be released outside Japan (though you can still buy the import version via our site *grin*). So, here is a modest preview:

Japanese Ranking Updated
December 19, 2003
Bad me, veeery bad me. I haven't been updating for a week again, that's so shameful. But I've been very busy, got new games to test and review and well, Christmas is coming and that's keeping everyone busy. My final excuse for not adding any new review or preview is that it takes quite much time to prepare, just gathering pictures is a mess given my working conditions. But enough complaints ! I've just updated the Japanese ranking with the latest sale results. Nothing spectacular this week though.

Japanese Ranking 3 Times Updated
December 11, 2003
Three times because it was the third week that I had not updated, shame on me. I was busy with my new site as you can read below. Anyway, now everything is back to normal, or almost as I still can't give all the sale numbers sadly. We know at least those for Baten Kaitos and Naruto 2. Yes, I know many of you are eager to play this game or know more about it. I'll try to make a preview in the coming days. Now though, you can check how well the game performed in its first week sale in Japan by going in our Japan Weekly section and checking the ranking. And if you're too excited to wait, let me just tell you that it did pretty well.

Planning Updated
December 11, 2003
Games for December and January and Feburary of next year to be released in Japan have been added. Yep, even in December still more games are coming: Viewtiful Joe Revival and Duel Masters. There's never been so many games in a month since the console was released (20 !), pretty good news.

My new site: 1UP
December 11, 2003
I opened a new site after several months of work. Its name is 1UP and it's all about tests of games for 6 old consoles: NES, Super Nintendo / Super NES / Super Famicom, Sega Master System, Megadrive / Genesis, Game Gear and SNK Neo Geo. Unfortunately, the site is only available in French. Yet, I have a lot of pictures in it, a lot of easy-to-understand information and a small English section that can come handy. This site is also why I haven't been updating Samurai Nintendo for a bit more than 2 weeks now. But don't worry, Samurai Nintendo is not dead at all, on the contrary, I have some plans for it. In a rather far and obscure future for now, I'll try to improve things and probably to revamp the site. Till then you'll have to bear your goold ol' shabby samurai and perhaps kill time by visiting his little brother:
